Arabella’s In Mandeville, Louisiana
Patrice Senac, owner of Arabella, in Mandeville, Louisiana is a talented interior designer as you can see from these lovely displays of Annieglass. I love her store, her, the products she finds and the way she puts it all together. I always find something to buy there…and I have two stores of my own. And she is also so incredibly sweet — she made me homemade Rocky Road fudge to go! Delicious.
Today: Judy at the Rink In New Orleans
I’m just getting ready to start my trunk show today at Judy at the Rink in New Orleans, a pretty store that is actually in a roller rink! I’ll be there from 11am to 2pm, so I hope that you will stop by if you are in New Orleans to see some of my new collections of unique glassware and some old favorites. And just to say hi!
For those of you who don’t know, ”trunk shows” is an old term used to describe the way fashion designers and jewelers would introduce their latest creations by bringing a trunk load to their best stores. It is usually a one-day event, then off to the next store. My own version is a little more complicated since Annieglass is not quite as portable as clothing and jewelry!
Look how Judy’s displayed my footed serving (trophy) bowl….with orchid and limes! So original. And pretty!

The Music of New Orleans
Music is such an incredible part of the history and heritage of New Orleans. And also the present. This concert happened right in front of my friend’s home — local marching brands from music programs around New Orleans aided by The Tipitina’s Foundation, which is a proactive advocate for saving music programs in schools. The goal of their Instruments A Comin’ program is to increase youth participation in the Greater New Orleans area school music programs by providing new instruments — almost every school music program in the city is in need of instruments. Instruments A Comin’ is an ongoing program now in its twelfth year and has purchased over $2.5 million dollars worth of musical instruments for over 4,000 students in more than 75 schools. These bands were so good, you just wouldn’t believe.

Party At The Ivy Cottage
I walked in the door at the Ivy Cottage to find my Dew Drops nestled in bed! I should not have been surprised, since some of my favorite items that I have bought here on my visits have been bed and lounging related as well – an elegant but comfy fuzzy bamboo robe I bought on one of my previous visits to this tempting store, and also a bamboo racer-back nightgown that I was featured wearing in photo in a travel story in The New York Times — I was wearing it as a dress, trudging through a rice patty in Bali! Here are some more photos from this event. So lovely!
