St. Patrick's Day Party
Join us at the Craftbar for a St. Patrick's Day celebration on Saturday, March 17th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm! Our event will feature live music, beer from local brewery Elkhorn Slough, and our Make-A-Beer Mug workshop.
Beer
We will be pouring a selection of beers from Elkhorn Slough Brewing Co., who specializes in small batch specialty beers, with a focus on barrel aged wild ales, crafted from locally harvested yeast, and other locally sourced ingredients, creating a terroir, or regionally distinctive style. Brewmaster Michael Enos, a veteran local homebrewer, brings his gold medal-winning recipes to the Monterey Bay area.
We will also be pouring a range of regional wines which we feature at the Craftbar.
Music
Local musician, Shawn Yanez, will be playing an acoustic set from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Shawn was raised in Hollister, CA and currently lives in Santa Cruz, CA. You can find him performing at Pono, in downtown Santa Cruz, and other venues around town. We are also proud to have him on the Annieglass team in Watsonville.
Workshop
The Workshop is optional and offered from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. You will make own your beer mug from clay with John Albrecht from Good Life Ceramics. Coaching and encouragement from John Albrecht and the staff at Good Life Ceramics. Plus, enjoy a complimentary local craft beer, glass of wine, or sparkling drink during the workshop at the Craftbar.
Beer mugs are made from a slab of pre-cut clay which you texture with provided items. One of the side seams is closed and the bottom is attached by slipping and scoring. A handle is attached and small adornments can then be added. When you are finished working on your project, you select a glaze choice from a test tile display. Good Life Ceramics will do all the rest. Projects are dried, bisque fired, glazed and then fired again. Mugs are ready within three weeks for pick up at Annieglass. Tickets cost $60 and include all materials, two hours of instruction, and a beverage.
